Wednesday in the City
/One man with a full hair of head informed me,
“You know, I guess the most trying part of living
right in the center of the City is that everybody
tries to act like they actually know what’s going on.”
Take note, certainly, of your discoveries,
but don’t try and keep score.
One irately dressed freeholder stood right up
during a recent City convention of secondary citizens
and announced, “Just about the time I get to where
I think I know what I’m doing – someone comes along.”
Older intelligence is thing-based,
while newer thrusts are too seamless
and complex to be defined.
If you wanted to I guess, you could say that
a Revolutionist’s intellectual ignition system is “hot wired.”
Despite the continuing popularity of the sentiment,
no one mistakes anything else for reality.
