Thinking in Metaphor

An ordinary man taking credit for what he is
is probably the best laugh he’ll ever have.

The judgment of the rich and poor are alien;
does gold carry one wisdom and copper another?

To forever think in metaphor,
is to never accept actual delivery.

Got a card from a man who says that after listening to me,
reading the Daily News, and after beginning to get his own
“good idea of what’s really going on,”
he now, "laughs at atmospheric pressure.”

From a more complex prospective,
the playing field everywhere is level,
while from local views,
it can never seem so.
(The run-off alone would kill you amidst inclemency.)

No hobby can be stable, complete or perfected,
and if you wish otherwise, your hunger’s not for sport,
but for specimen display.
